Verileah Teets was born in Philadelphia and attended Philadelphia public schools, graduating from West Philadelphia High. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Cheyney University and her Master’s degree in counseling and guidance from Michigan State University. Mrs. Teets was a teacher and later a guidance counselor in the Philadelphia public schools. She later taught Psychology at the Center for Urban Theological studies.
She has performed her stories in schools, churches, senior facilities, libraries, child care centers, coffeehouses, festivals, private parties, and other storytelling venues such as the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey, celebrating the 350th Anniversary of the state. She has performed for the Patchwork Storytelling Guild and Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild and is married to Evangelist John Teets and has two sons Joel married to Nicole, and Daniel, married to Elise, and six wonderful grandchildren - Ava, Christian, Gabriel, Dani, Cami, and Livy.
